Although Rand McNally’s directions to the Why Not Ranch are very helpful, they apparently aren’t very familiar with the back roads of TN AND WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT GET LOST SO......to better help you get to the Why Not from route 50 here is some helpful information:
  • The Why Not is located off of Route 50 between Centerville and Columbia and is very close to the Natchez Trace.
  • From Route 50, look for a green sign that says “Shady Grove” and then look for the Duck River Market – a yellow building.
  • There is a road that runs parallel/next to with the Duck River Market and you want to turn onto this road. There are blue Post Office signs and no signs that mark this as Hoover Road
  • Stay on this paved road for approximately 5 miles. DO NOT take the Old Trayce road as Rand McNally advises – stay on the paved road.
  • Pass under the Natchez Trace bridges twice
  • After the 2nd bridge, the first road to your left will be New She Boss – turn left
  • The next road is Blue Buck – turn right and follow the signs to Why Not Ranch
  • Happy Trails and have a Why Not kind of day!
